CLOTHE AND FEED PROJECT This project aims organising people to donate to victims after catastrophic occurences such as overflooding and earthquakes in affected countries as well as supporting people in difficult situations or the less privileged and the needy. Donations are nomally made in terms of clothes, educational and healthcare materials, computers and food items in some cases.

Activities

In India 2004 after the tsunami 2004 occured in the southern part of India, WAOH mobilised, participated and donated clothes food, educational materials to over thousands of victims (orphans, widows and widowers) after the overflooding disaster in Tamil Nadu. WAOH even helped build orphanage homes to thses victims as part of the relief program.

In 2010/2011 WAOH initiates, mobilises and organises many organisations in Stockholm, Sweden, in collaboration with the Red Cross, Stockholm University, Lernia Kista, Cinema Africa to raise funds for the victims in Haiti as well as donate clothes, health and educational materials for the the victims. This activity ended with a musical concert at the Stockholm’s univeristy. In Ghana WAOH has sponsored educations for smart children with less resources to complete thier education from primary to the secondary level. WAOH has also donated educational materials and food items to orphanage homes eg the SOS Village, some villages as in Nyamfeiku Akroful in the central region as well as Mangoase in the Eastern Region. WAOH has also orgnaised clean up exercises in many towns eg in Tema as a bonus activity.


In Sweden 2004 WAOH has since supported the homeless in Stockholm. WAOH donates winter clothes to the homeless during christmas periods. We prepare sandwiches, tea, coffee, food items and gather clothes from donors amidst singing and encouragements donate to these homeless in Sergerls Torget, The Central Station, Skärholmen, Bredäng, Rinkeby, Kista and many more. MICRO FINANCING FOR WOMEN PROJECT This project aims at encouraging and supporting dilligent women who start up small scale businesses but find difficulty in developing it to the next level, since we believe that Africa’s economic goal lies in the massive promotion of small scale enterpreises. Activities In 2009 WAOH organises a two day workshop for over 150 women on how to take their small scale enterprises to the next level. The workshop was so successful that amidst media’s (radio and television) promotion was the presence and acknowlegement of the vice president of Liberia Ambassador Joseph Boakai. Today all these women have successfully developed their businesses to the macro level.


A SUMMARY OF WAOH ACTIVITIES

2002 –Sponsoring the education of marginalised youth and children in Ghana. Donations to SOS Orphanage Village homes in Ghana, Nyamfeiku Akroful village in Ghana, and supported some children who could not afford their education from the primary to the secondary level.

2004/2005 – WAOH’s donation and supporting of victims (orphans, widows/wers) in India after the Tsunami Disaster. We built orphanage homes and mobilised donations of clothes, educational, healthcare, materials, and toys to the homeless and victims.

2007-2009 – WAOH Organizes a potential development seminar. Tile: ‘The role of the African in the 21st Century,’ If only you knew’ through a ‘Charity Musical Concert in Kista Kyrka. Aim: Raise awareness on our unlimited potentiality and how to support the homeless in Stockholm. Venue: ABF Rådmansgatan, Stockholm. Speaker Doctor Margaret Gärding of Stockholm University.

2009 – WAOH organizes a 2 day workshop in Liberia for over 150 women on micro financing and how to take it to the next level ie from the micro to the micro Level. Special acknowledgement by the Vice President of Liberia Ambassador Joseph Boakai. In collaboration with Mike Mueller Charities Org, CEWC org etc.

2008/10 – WAOH’s recognition and participation in international issues as the ‘European Developing Days Seminars in the European Union Parliament in Brussels on the ‘Millineum Development Goal by the United Nations, in relation to comes to women empowerment, children’s rights and poverty alleviation.

2010 – ‘The Fight Against Exploitation’: WAOH initiates projects on educating children in Ghana as early as 6 year old on their constitutional rights so that by the time they are 12 years old they would have been well firmed with their rights. This aims at reducing the rate of exploitation and abuse among children. A seminar was held in HUSBY TRÄFF with regards to this. Title: ‘The Fight Against Sexual Exploitaion.’ Main Speaker was Dr. Margaret Gärding of Stockholm University and a human rights activist. There were participants from all over the world such us Germany, Norway, Ghana, Liberia, Sweden, Denmark, Italy etc. It was in special collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Children of Ghana, Sweden Liberia Corporative Organisation, etc

2010/11 – WAOH initiates mobilising and organising all African organisations in Stockhlom in collaboration with Stockholm University , Lernia SFI and Red Cross, Sweden Liberia Corporative Organisations etc to raise funds and support the victims (orphans, widows/ers) in Haiti after the earthquake catastrophy. WAOH gathered clothes, educational and healthcare materials from donors for donation to HAITI victims.

2011-2015 : WAOH has engaged in donation programs to orphanage homes in Ghana, less privileged Liberia and distributed clothes and food to the homeless during Christmas in Plattan, Sergels Torg.
